He will be charged with maintaining and growing the business with a focus on new markets in addition to the healthcare sector where it currently specialises.
Howell spent the last year as the chilled and frozen meal manufacturers’ head of commercial.
His experience prior to joining Anglia Crown included working as a business development manager for Compass Group, head of sales at Apetito and director of local authority catering at Tillery Valley Foods.
“The past year has been an extremely busy time for us with some exciting new developments," said Howell. "I am looking forward to building on the company’s success, focusing on growing our existing market share and entering new markets wherever possible.
“I am delighted to be talking the helm of such a fantastic company and leading a passionate team who continually work to improve food standards for some of the most vulnerable people.
“Contract retentions, as well as expected new business, will form a significant part of our plans for future growth.”
