Amadeus wins DZG
Abstract
Award-winning caterer Amadeus, which is part of the NEC Group, has won a seven year contract worth £5.4 million to provide the catering at Dudley Zoological Gardens (DZG).

This new contract follows a series of wins for Amadeus, including Cadbury World where Amadeus  transformed the café for opening in January 2014 – just a few weeks after winning the contract in November 2013.

Amadeus will take the reins on 7th April 2014 and will initially run a café and three kiosks for visitors to the attraction – this will increase to four kiosks next year.

The café menu will be based on Amadeus’ Oak Kitchen concept and will include customer favourite the Brummie Balti, as well as introducing some Black Country dishes such as faggots, mash and peas.

Amadeus managing director, Kevin Watson, said: “We are pleased to add the Dudley Zoo catering contract to our growing portfolio of fixed site ‘visit’ venues.  Dudley Zoo is undergoing significant investment and we have been tasked with improving the catering in line with the visitor experience.

"I have every confidence that we will raise standards of food and service whilst offering value for money and providing a range of main meals, snacks and drinks for all the family. We have vast experience in this area and are keen to continue to grow this part of our business, alongside the ‘meet’ element, as part of our national growth strategy. ”

Peter Suddock, chief executive, Dudley Zoological Gardens added: "we are delighted to appoint Amadeus as our partners to provide the on-site catering for our visitors and to develop our event business. They were selected as it was felt they had the culture and experience required for a successful visitor attraction, together with their experience of the NEC, NIA, ICC and LG Arena.”
