At the beginning of the month, the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham officially launched as the Barclaycard Arena following an eighteen-month, £26 million redevelopment.
As part of the redevelopment, Amadeus implemented 48 additional tills to increase service speed and added 300 covers to its hospitality areas to meet demand – totalling 600 covers. Amadeus is reportedly exceeding sales targets based on the opening and following night.
Amadeus is also offering a VIP experience at the venue’s new hospitality restaurants, The Foundry and Quartz. The Foundry offers an exclusive dining experience whereas the Quartz provides a more relaxed pre-show environment.
Managing director of Amadeus, Kevin Watson said: “The Barclaycard Arena is built on providing sensational customer experiences, something that Amadeus prides itself on too. The food and service we offer at the new Arena is of a high standard whether from a fast food kiosk or in the top tier hospitality restaurant.
“We have almost 40 years’ experience catering for the NEC Group’s 4 million visitors and use our knowledge to manage fluctuating visitor numbers, and to ensure we serve as many customers as quickly as possible without compromising on quality. I am delighted with early sales figures and customer feedback, and look forward to building on this success.”
Amadeus is the NEC Group’s retail, conference & banqueting, and hospitality caterer. It looks after four million visitors at over 750 events a year across various venues.
