The newly-formed company will operate under the name Alpha LSG Ltd, and will include all existing Alpha and LSG Sky Chefs airline catering, airline retail and ancillary services in the UK, with the exception of Alpha’s dedicated British Airways operation at London-Gatwick and
its operations in the Republic of Ireland.
Both shareholders will take an equal stake in the joint venture and management of the business going forward.
The management team of Alpha LSG Ltd. will consist of chief executive Ken Adamson, currently managing director of Alpha Flight UK and Ireland, and chief finance officer Axel Bilstein, a senior executive with LSG Sky Chefs.
In a statement, the two operators said the management team will "concentrate on continued delivery and
maintaining service stability to our customers while delivering the integration of the two businesses".
This integration will include the "implementation of a forward-thinking customer focused business model and organisation, as well as the planned transfer of the employees into the joint venture after full and meaningful consultations with all employees and their representatives".
The new company has combined revenues of more than £300m, which is generated by up to 3,600 employees providing catering services with facilities in 16 airports throughout the UK.
