Taking place 15 November, all products will be judged at Carnegie Conference Centre so must arrive between 9.00am and 11.30am on the day. The winners will then be announced on 9 January 2018 at a luncheon at Westerwood Hotel, Cumbernauld. The number one scotch pie will be declared ‘world champion.’
To coincide with the competition, Scottish Bakers has asked fans to post a photo of themselves and brief description of their “perfect pie moment” to either @ScotchPieAwards Facebook or Twitter page. The winner will also be announced at the luncheon in January.
Scottish Bakers president Craig McPhie, explained: “Sweet or savoury, hot or cold, veggie or meat-packed? Butchers and bakers up and down the land have been pushing the boundaries of pie perfection for a long time but this year we wanted to see how the public like to enjoy their pies.
“For the first time ever, we are asking pie lovers around the world to show exactly how they like to enjoy their pie by sharing their pie pics! Simply follow @ScotchPieAwards on Facebook and Twitter and post your pic.”
