Andy has been involved in hospital catering for more than 30 years, is a past chair of the Hospital Caterers Association, and currently works as a consultant to the NHS.
He was also chair of the PSC100 Group, the forerunner of the Public Sector Catering Alliance, from 2015 when it was first set-up as a pan-industry collaboration and lobbying group, until May 2022 when he stepped down.
An inveterate social media user, he notably appeared on a BBC Countryfile episode calling on the public sector to use better quality meat.
He told them: “For us it’s the quality, our budgets are tight but we know we have to offer the best quality product for our children, for people who want to get better in our hospitals, universities and prisons.”
