Zest and Reynolds introduce re-usable crate systems

5th Aug 2008 - 00:00
Abstract
Midlands and Southern based contract caterer, Zest Catering Solutions, has partnered with Reynolds Catering Supplies to implement a re-usable delivery crate system for all fresh products delivered to its 42 outlets across the country.
The crate system reduces the impact on natural resources by removing the need for cardboard packaging and also cutting waste management costs for clients. They are washed through a state of the art system designed to ensure the most efficient and environmentally friendly process. Zest has calculated an annual saving of 140 trees per year just through this initiative. Lucy Horner, joint managing director, commented on the scheme: "In the current financial climate this is a quick win for our clients and this is a great example of our commitment to reducing our client's carbon footprints." Zest Catering Solutions currently operates 42 contracts with a £5 million turnover across the UK. Weblink:
