Winner of London Chef of the Year revealed

Chef David Bush has been crowned London Chef of the Year 2008 at Westminster Kingsway College as part of its annual Culinary Salon.
Along with the coveted title, David, aged 28, was also awarded a two week trip to Dubai that includes work experience at the Burj Al Arab, training at the Emirates Academy, as well as a visit to the RAK porcelain factory in Dubai. The winning chef, who has worked as a senior chef at the House of Commons for the past seven years, commented on his achievement: "It was really worth all of the hard work that I have put in to win this competition. It is the first time that I have entered the London Chef of the Year and to win it first time is fantastic. I am really looking forward to going to Dubai." Applicants were invited to submit a three course menu and amuse bouche for four people demonstrating an inventive and creative approach that reflects current London trends The judging panel included Steve Scuffell, Craft Guild of Chefs, Paul Gayler, executive chef at the Lanesborough Hotel, and Gary Hunter, head of Culinary Arts at Westminster Kingsway College.
