Top chefs to showcase talents at La Dolce Vita

29th Jan 2008 - 00:00
Abstract
Caterers with a passion for Italian food are being invited to attend the La Dolce Vita event at Olympia Grand Hall, London from 13-16 March, where top chefs such as Aldo Zilli and Theo Randall (pictured) will be showcasing their talents.
Standard tickets cost £16 per person but on Friday 14, caterers can enter the event free of charge by logging onto www.ladolcevitaevent.co.uk/trade to register for their ticket. Visitors will have the opportunity to sample and taste a selection of authentic Italian ingredients, as well as picking up invaluable tips for recreating traditional Italian cuisine. At the heart of the festival, as in every Italian town, is The Piazza where visitors can sample top Italian restaurants including Zafferano, Signor Zilli, Latium and Alloro, as well as Gino D'Acampo's restaurant, Bonita Italia – developed especially for the show. For desserts, slow food experts Foodiscovery will be showcasing Italian regional specialities such as Minsisteriali from Naples and Chocolate Figs from Calabria. To wash all of this down, visitors can attend the Wine Academy, created in association with Vinopolis and Italy Magazine, where workshops will be held to assist those looking to taste, source and learn more about Italian wines. And to source raw Italian ingredients, The Mercato will be full with authentic Italian producers showcasing a range of cheese, cured meats, truffle oils and chocolate. To guarantee a space at the Cookery School where chefs will be conducting their masterclasses, and the Wine Academy, visitors need to purchase a Wine & Food Connoisseur ticket, priced at £50. This price will include £20 worth of Fiorini, a fast track entry to the show, and access to the VIP area of the Piazza.
