Abstract
Sodexo, a leader in food and facilities management services, has unveiled a three-year deal worth over £6 million with Milton Keynes council to provide hot meals in its 73 primary schools and nine day nurseries.
Sodexo began providing services to Milton Keynes' day nurseries this week (7 April), and will begin at primary schools on 21 April. The company will employ 148 staff and will serve in excess of one million meals to Milton Keynes school children every year. Items on offer on Sodexo's 'Club Joules' menu will include Breaded Salmon, Pasta Neapolitana, Spaghetti Bolognese along with traditional dishes such as Roast Chicken with Sage and Onion Stuffing. As parts of its service, Sodexo will offer taster sessions throughout the year, ensuring improvement of service through feedback from parents, teachers and pupils. Jeremy Alderton, Sodexo's director of business development, explained: "We aim to provide healthy and nutritious choices that the children enjoy."
