Abstract
Contract caterer Sodexho has won a seven-year contract to provide catering services to the military personnel at landmarks including the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace and St James's Palace.
The contract, worth an annual turnover of £7.3 million, will start in April next year and will employ over 500 Sodexho staff. They will be providing food for over 5,000 customers three meals a day, seven-days a week, as part of Sodexho Defence's HUB branded catering, retail and leisure (CRL) offer.
Sodexho Defence will also invest more than £1 million in its Hub brand, specifically designed to offer high street facilities to meet the needs of service personnel. There will be 40 catering and bar premises upgraded, and 11 shops will be introduced under the Londis brand.
In addition, the contract will introduce the Ministry of Defence's (MOD's) Pay As You Dine (PAYD) system, which allows servicemen and service women to choose what they purchase.
Other sites involved in the contract include The Royal College of Defence Studies, Wellington Barracks, and St John's Wood.
