Abstract
Student caterer Scolarest has been awarded a three-year contract worth £11.4 million, to provide catering services at Oxford Brookes University.
Scolarest will provide catering and hospitality services to 22,000 students and staff at five campuses.
Under the new deal, the caterer will be introducing a range of sustainable initiatives including biodegradable packaging, increased recycling activities and a 'Cup for ALife' scheme, where
The company will also provide an outlet on campus where local food producers can sell their produce.
Scholarest has worked with Oxford Brookes for 15 years and has is continuing to work with the university to promote Fairtrade products and raise awareness of fairly traded food and drink.
In addition, Scolarest is giving a new look to some of its campus catering facilities, including adding a new Costa Coffee shop at the Wheatley campus.
