Abstract
Quality Meat Scotland (QMS) has launched its ‘BBQ Ready – A Guide to Summer Eating,’ to help butchers ‘make the most’ of barbecue season.

It comes as forecasters predict the hottest June on record and includes recipes; ideas for cooking outside; instructions on staying safe and on cooking different cuts of meat.

Available now in Scotch Butchers Club member shops across the UK, marketing executive Graeme Sharp commented: “Barbecues are great fun and a fantastic way to relax with friends outdoors and enjoy the 2018 exceptional Scottish sunshine outdoors

“Whether you’re having a barbecue with friends and family or feeding the masses at a summer party, it’s the perfect occasion to enjoy the great taste of Scotch Beef, Scotch Lamb and Specially Selected Pork.”

He added: “We know the weather in Scotland can be unpredictable at best and while there is plenty of sunshine at the moment, we’ve made sure these recipes work just as well on the grill as they do on the barbecue.

“Our selection of suggestions for sauces and marinades will bring the flavours of summer to you even if the weather doesn’t cooperate. And, by choosing to cook with the best quality assured beef, lamb and pork, consumers can take some of the uncertainty out of the end result.”
