Abstract
The Food and Drink Federation (FDF) has joined forces with Business in the Community (BITC) to develop a guide for employers of all sizes who are looking to boost their productivity by promoting healthy eating in their workplaces.
The new Healthy Eating Toolkit shows how a healthy eating initiative can be built in an overall workplace wellbeing programme. It also highlights how easy it is for the companies to plan, execute and refresh their activities. Developed as part of BITC's workplace wellbeing campaign, the Toolkit draws from the experiences of a number of leading food companies, as well as from the Food Standards Agency. Melanie Leech, FDF's director general, commented: "There is a clear business case for employers to invest in the health and wellbeing of their staff – and our members have shown leadership in this area over many years. Promoting a healthy diet and sensible eating habits should be an important part of any workplace wellbeing programme." The Toolkit has been developed by companies including ARAMARK, BITC, Kelloggs, Cadbury, Danone, Tate & Lyle, and Unilever.
