New five a day school bars for kids

15th Aug 2008 - 00:00
Abstract
Parents can avoid receiving warning notes from teachers about providing their kids with a healthy packed lunch by sending them to school with new school bars, which count towards the recommended five a day.
The bars are available in six different flavours and each contains just 0.6g of fat and 67 calories and no added sugar. School bars are available from the dried fruit section of all supermarkets priced at around £1.00 for a box of five. The School Food Trust is currently proposing teachers to send out warning letters to parents who fail to comply with school healthy-eating policies.
