Abstract
Today Gatwick Express, the non-stop rail-air link between London and Gatwick Airport, is the first UK train operating company to offer its passengers a taste of the new 2007 Beaujolais Nouveau.
Becoming increasingly popular among younger drinkers too, with special events often taking place in clubs, bars and nightclubs around France, Gatwick Express is joining in.
Following on from the first train at midnight the wine will be distributed to Gatwick Express customers from the platforms at Gatwick airport station and Victoria station. Gareth Jones, head of customer services at Gatwick Express said: "We believe we are the first ever train operating company in the UK to offer the new Beaujolais Nouveau to customers. We also believe we may be the first in the world. This wine tasting event will appeal to our international customers as the race to ship the wine all around the world as quickly as possible has become a global phenomenon and is popular in countries such as America and Japan."
