Milburns to provide skiers with refreshments

11th May 2009 - 00:00
Abstract
Visitors to Manchester's real snow ski village will have new areas in which to chill out, drink and eat home-cooked, authentic food from the Alps with the signing of a contract with Milburns, part of Compass Group.
As part of Chill Factore's 10 year deal with Milburns worth £35 million, the Village will see the opening of a new Costa Coffee, while the existing Chilli's Bar overlooking the 180 metre slope and the themed Mont Blanc restaurant will be revamped. The Mont Blanc restaurant, where visitors can order authentic Alpine foods such as cheese fondue, traditional Austrian speck rösti potato and homemade apple strudel, will undergo a complete redesign as part of the contract. Andrew Dixon, marketing director of Chill Factore, said: "We have joined forces with Milburns to combine the company's catering expertise with the first-rate ski-board-climb-shop-dine experience we provide at Chill Factore. We anticipate this to be a highly successful partnership where real snow and an authentic après-ski experience come together." Milburns also manages the conference and events business at Chill Factore which accommodates approximately 300 people for a drinks reception or 200 guests for dinner. Businesses and private parties can hire out various spaces at the venue including Chilli's Bar with its slope-side view.
