28th May 2009 - 00:00
Abstract
The McCain UK Athletics (UKA) five year partnership, which includes a £5 million sponsorship deal and £5 million spend on activation, is entering its second year.
McCain's continuing commitment to support UK Athletics is part of the McCain Foods "It's All Good" philosophy which aims to encourage people to eat healthier foods and to lead healthier lifestyles through leading active lives. McCain's corporate affairs director, Bill Bartlett, said: "We want to ensure children are leading an active life as well as enjoying good food. In recent years we have taken bold steps to ensure our products are as healthy as they can be while also helping caterers. Everyone at McCain is committed to ensuring our products, our approach and our actions are in keeping with our 'It's All Good' philosophy." In addition, as part of the athletics sponsorship, McCain staff will also be encouraged to become more active through the internal 'McCain in Motion' programme. Running clubs, football teams and other forms of physical activity will be facilitated by McCain in order to ensure that all employees have the opportunity to exercise.
