Jockey Club Catering cooks up a feast at Epsom

Jockey Club Catering, the joint venture between Compass Group UK & Ireland and The Jockey Club, served over 1250,000 guests at the Investec Derby Festival (Epsom Racecourse) this weekend (1-2 June).

With 120 chefs busy in the kitchen, Jockey Club Catering served over 6,000 lunches and 3,500 freshly prepared afternoon teas, as well as dishes such as fish and chips, hog roast and Cornish pasties at the street-food market set up in the Grandstand Enclosure.

 

Nick Campbell, Jockey Club Catering managing director, commented: “The Epsom Investec Derby Festival is one of the highlights in the UK’s sporting calendar.

 

“We have sourced the best local suppliers and talent at Epsom Racecourse to make sure we deliver an exceptional culinary offering that makes a visit to Epsom a great day out for all our guests.”

 

New for 2018 was the MOET Champagne Terrace and Rum Runner airstream, where visitors could order an array of bespoke drinks.

 

Sticking to its ethos of using seasonal and regional ingredients, Jockey Club Catering estimates that is served:

  • 500kg of British beef from Surrey Farm
  • 1,200 best of British cheese boards
  • 4,000 handmade race horse shaped biscuits
  • 2,500 handmade macaroons
