HHI launched into schools sector

2nd May 2008 - 00:00
Abstract
Following its merger with BaxterStorey late last year, contract caterer Holroyd Howe has re-emerged as Holroyd Howe Independent (HHI).
Led by founder Nick Howe, HHI will focus on selling its fresh food service purely to independent schools and colleges. The business and Industry (B&I) accounts held by Holroyd Howe are now operating as BaxterStorey contracts. Explaining the decision to alter his company's perspective to exclusively serve independent education, Howe says: "The market has really responded to our children-focused offer, which is styled to respond to each school's individual requirements. "We know that there is growing demand within the sector for an alternative offer and we are confident that our proposition will be welcomed with vigour allowing us to rapidly become one of the sector's most influential players." Holyrod Howe was founded in 1997 and spent a successful decade building a solid reputation as a high quality provider of food services to the independent education market across the UK and the B&I sector. After the merger it was decided that its heritage within the independent sector should be retained and built upon as a specialist operation. HHI starts its new life with 42 existing contracts with schools including Princess Helena College in Hertfordshire, Alleyn's in London and St Edmunds in Canterbury. It offers a fresh food menu with menu choices varying through out a school to suit varying age spread, ethnic diversity and dining preferences of each school and college for which it caters. It will run autonomously from its parent and sister companies within WSH, which owns BaxterStorey (business and industry food services) and Cater Link (state education food services). As part of WSH it will share central IT, marketing, purchasing, personnel and training resources. The company employs over 400 people and its head office is located Reading.
