The Great Taste Awards return

3rd Mar 2008 - 00:00
Abstract
The Guild of Fine Food, the organisers of the Great Taste Awards, is inviting food producers around the UK and Ireland to enter this year's awards – before the 25 April closing date.
The first round of judging will take place in May, the second in June and the final round will be staged in July. Last year's Supreme Champion winner was a free-range pork pie from Walter Smith's butchers in Birmingham. Now in its 15th year, the Great Taste Awards is the acknowledged benchmark for speciality food and drink. A three-star gold is the highest level of award any producer can achieve. Every entry is blind tasted by teams of experts. Last year's judging panel included farmer Alex James, Charles Campion from Evening Standard and The Independent and Tom Parker-Bowles of UKTV Food's Market Kitchen.
