Charity effort sees Carpigiani raise over £3,000

10th Jul 2008 - 00:00
Abstract
Ice cream equipment manufacturer Carpigiani has presented the Macmillan Cancer Support Renton Appeal with a cheque for £3,265 as a result of a fundraising effort at this year's Hotelympia exhibition.
Hotelympia attracted in excess of 40,000 visitors and so presented Carpigiani with a great opportunity to be able to raise some funds for their chosen charity. Paul Ingram, Managing Director, Carpigiani UK Ltd. explains: "As an exhibitor at the UK's largest trade show, it seemed logical to try and raise some money for charity whilst we were there. Everyone loves ice cream, and the array of fresh Artisan and Soft ice cream we had on show really pulled in the crowds, so we came up with a great fundraising concept – getting visitors to make a donation in return for a dessert. Needless to say, scoops of homemade ice cream went down a treat!"
