Caterer Houston & Hawkes appoints new head of ESG & safety

Abstract
Independent business and industry caterer Houston & Hawkes has appointed of James Carr as head of environment social and governance (ESG) and safety.

Carr will play a pivotal role in enhancing the company’s safety record, driving forward its sustainability initiatives and ensuring the company achieves its net-zero commitments.

He will spearhead sustainability initiatives while championing the company’s B Corp strategy as the business approaches its recertification in 2025.

Dave Hawkes, co-founder and director of Houston & Hawkes, said: “We are delighted to welcome James to the Houston & Hawkes team. Carr brings a wealth of experience having previously been head of health, safety and environment at Wasabi. Prior to that, he was an environmental health officer with York City Council and spent five years as group head of health and sustainability for Rhubarb.
