Brakes hails success of Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon

Brakes, a foodservice supplier, has said its sponsorship and involvement with the Royal parks Foundation Half Marathon was a success for a second year running.
The event, which took place on Sunday 11th October saw more than 10,000 runners set off from the starting line and were joined by celebrity supporters such as Nell McAndrew, Beverley Turner, Ben Fogle, Charley Boorman, Jeremy Edwards and CBBC's Rani Price. Several teams from Brakes, representing the UK foodservice industry alongside a huge number of chefs and hospitality professionals, took part completing the 13-mile course, raising money for their chosen charities. The Brakes teams were entered into the corporate challenge, and all did extremely well on the day. Brakes Elite A team put in an "outstanding performance to win the event", beating 92 other teams in the process, while Brakes Elite B team managed an impressive 5th place. Frank McKay, CEO Brakes, headline sponsor of the Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon, said: "We are very pleased to continue our support for this prestigious event and hope that the half marathon will continue to motivate people to enjoy a healthier lifestyle and help raise millions for charity. The day was made even more memorable by the Brakes Food & Fitness Festival - a true celebration of enjoyable eating and everything that Brakes stands for."
