The new seven-year partnership will provide Goldsmiths’ community of 12,000 students and staff with a range of refreshed locations to experience quality food and drink that is environmentally conscious, convenient and packed with flavour.
BaxterStorey has made a commitment to ‘transform’ the on-campus provision to ensure carbon neutral menus by 2025. Coffee will be on offer from Extract Coffee Roasters, which is based just over three miles away from campus.
Sarah Miller, managing director at BaxterStorey, said: “We're thrilled to be working with Goldsmiths and can’t wait to inspire minds and tastebuds across campus. Supporting the university’s mission to reduce carbon emission within catering is a key focus for us, and we have already launched new experiences and initiatives to create not only a memorable dining experience, but a sustainable one too.”
BaxterStorey’s commitment to sustainability and reducing food waste is a key component of the new contract. The company will use Waste Knot surplus vegetables to create its homemade soups and salads, while its War on Waste programme will continue to help reduce food waste across the campus.
Mark Hughes, director of estates and facilities at Goldsmiths, added: “We know that food sustainability is very important for our students and staff which is why it’s key for us to work with a catering provider which shares these values. We’re very excited to be able to refresh our catering offer and look forward to working closely with BaxterStorey.”
