Ascot hosts Sodexo supplier forum

28th Oct 2009 - 00:00
Abstract
Sodexo recently held its annual supplier forum, focusing on key areas such as offer development, supply chains, promotional activity, health & well-being and sustainability.
Held at Ascot Racecourse, one of Sodexo's flagship contracts, over 70 of Sodexo's key suppliers were briefed by senior members of its commercial team and executive board. The forum gave Sodexo the opportunity to communicate its activity in relation to sustainable procurement and healthy eating in particular, and its expectations of suppliers to ensure that specific targets around its supplier code of conduct and annual supplier corporate citizenship questionnaire are met. Suppliers were invited to consider product development and supply chain innovation for the future. Suppliers were also provided with an outline of Sodexo's overall company strategy by chief executive Aidan Connolly. Steve Jobson, buying director, Sodexo, said: "We have made significant progress in delivering our service offers and we are constantly looking at ways to improve the quality of our food and, at the same time, meeting our agreed targets for sustainable procurement. "We are pleased that our key suppliers are now fully briefed and are committed to working with us to achieve our procurement objectives.
