Accent Catering wins three new contracts

29th Jan 2009 - 00:00
Abstract
Accent Catering has secured three new contracts with schools in Holloway, Wembley, North London, and Cippenham, near Slough, providing each of them with fresh ingredients, balanced meals and innovative concepts.
The service Accent provides at the Sacred Heart RC Primary School, Holloway, replaces their previous 'delivered meal' concept, where the only children who generally ate school lunches were those entitled to free meals. The school did not have a kitchen or a proper servery area to provide a full service cooked on site so Accent recommended a design consultant who, alongside his team of builders, completely refurbished and installed a fully equipped kitchen and front of house counters. Works were completed on Friday 9th January, with sandwiches, soups and jacket potatoes provided by Accent as interim cover during the build. Even the reduced service enticed many more children and staff to take lunch. At Lyon Park Infant and Junior Schools in Wembley, the caterer is now feeding 900 pupils from a central kitchen. The improved fresh food offer with a salad bar, fresh vegetables, homemade desserts and high quality main meals have proved extremely popular with the children. The third new win at Cippenham Infant and Junior School now allows pupils to choose from two freshly cooked main meals, fresh vegetables, a salad bar, homemade hot desserts, organic yoghurt and freshly cut fruit each day. As well as sandwiches and a daily homemade soup, children and staff now have plenty to choose from. The school has redecorated the dining hall and invested in new kitchen equipment and service dishes to support Accent with the launch of the new menus. Accent has also provided newsletters and held taster days for parents to encourage uptake in lunches. Accent Catering provides catering services to clients in business & industry, education and healthcare.
