3663 donates vehicle for African relief work

The donated 3663 vehicle will be loaded with education materials from the UK and distributed to African countries, helping them to meet their goal of educating the majority and address the challenge of lack of textbooks and other educational materials. The truck will then be used to help local people transport food in Nigeria. The vehicle is temperature controlled so all perishable food will be carefully refrigerated and preserved during transit. This will greatly assist local farmers whose fruit and vegetable are often damaged by the heat from the sun. Fred Barnes, chief executive of 3663, said: "This is the second truck we've been able to donate over the past two years. The truck will make a tangible difference to local communities' lives – improving their standard of living through the food and educational materials that will be distributed. "We normally recycle spare parts of end of term trucks but we saw the work that our first donated truck has done, so it was an easy decision to support Reform Corporation." Sir Joe Ukemenam, chief officer of Reform Corporation, added: "A key poverty relief strategy of the United Nations Millennium goal is the development of the food sector in the rural African communities. "With the generosity of UK organisations we have been supporting this goal, assisting local African communities by working on key areas of food production and distribution. This is the second time 3663 is supporting us and giving our charitable effort a significant boost."
