NACC takes to the skies for charity

22/07/2016 - 09:01
A team of National Association of Care Catering (NACC) members will leap 10,000ft from an aeroplane to raise money for The Food Chain and Alzheimer’s Society.

Neel Radia, national chair, National Association of Care Catering, said: “I have always wanted to do a skydive and to be able to fulfil this ambition in support of two wonderful charities is fantastic.

“I’m naturally nervous but it’s going to be a great experience to jump out of a plane alongside good NACC friends and colleagues. It’s also a thrilling way to kick off the NACC’s 30th anniversary year. Improving the life quality of the vulnerable and elderly through good nutritional and emotional care is the aim of the NACC.

“The Food Chain and Alzheimer’s Society share our mission to enrich lives and we are proud to be able to support them in their formidable work. I ask industry colleagues to please sponsor our charity skydive as generously as possible, and thank them wholeheartedly for their support.”

Joining Neel is Amanda Scott, managing director at Sunrise Senior Living; Preston Walker, director/owner, Oak House Residential Home; Oliver Smith, head chef, Hadrian Healthcare’s Wetherby Manor and NACC Care Cook of the Year 2015; Billie Moore, managing director/owner, McCullough Moore; and Sophie Murray, head of nutrition and hydration, Sunrise Senior Living.

The skydive takes place on October 8th in Nottingham and follows the annual NACC Training & Development Forum (5-7 October) where The Food Chain and Alzheimer’s Society will also be the beneficiary charities of the NACC Awards dinner.
