The NACC Training & Development Forum to offer training workshops
01/08/2019 - 05:00
The NACC Training & Development Forum will have four interactive training workshops at the East Midlands Conference Centre, Nottingham 9-11 October 2019.

The NACC aims to ‘inform, support and inspire’ catering professionals through training workshops, live demonstrations and keynote speakers.

The four interactive workshops will enable attendees to gain insight into catering provision. Amanda Woodvine, chief executive of Vegetarian for Life will host the ‘If I get dementia, will they serve me meat or wheat?’ workshop. This will help delegates be mindful of the law when catering for specific dietary beliefs.

Rachael Masters, senior specialist dietitian at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust will host the ‘Developing pureed snacks, including afternoon tea, according to IDDSI requirements’ workshop which will suggest suitable snacks for people in a care environment.

Naomi Campbell, independent hydration nurse consultant at Hydration Care Consultancy Ltd, will give a talk about the associated risks of food dehydration and poor food intake.

Jane Murphy, a professor at Bournemouth University, will give an interactive session on providing good nutritional care for people with dementia.

The keynote speakers include Mike Padgham the owner of Saint Cecilia’s Services Ltd, Vic Rayner the executive director of the National Care Forum and Caroline Bovey the chair of the British Dietetic Association.

They will discuss topics including managing dietary requirements on decreasing budgets, social care updates and the impact UK politics could have on the care sector.

There will be five cooking demonstrations that aim to inspire delegates with new recipes and techniques. Visit, for more information on the cooking demonstrations.
