The Spartan pots are made from 85% premium high-clarity UK-sourced recycled PET (rPET) – made almost completely from recycled plastic bottles.
The sustainable rPET material is made from plastic that has already been used, and has been sorted, cleaned and transformed for reuse instead of going to waste.
It is manufactured using renewable energy, at a facility less than 70 miles from Tri-Star’s main hub at Enfield, cutting carbon mileage.
The new product is heat-sealable and is available with different lidding options, which can eliminate leakage, promote longer shelf-life and reduce expensive waste. Spartan is also ideal for branding or marketing promotions, subject to volume.
With a clip-in mini spoon lid option, Spartan pots are spot-on for the unique and multiple needs of eat-on-the-go operators such as delis and food stalls. They are ‘perfect’ pots for pasta, salad, olives, fruit pieces, muesli and a variety of other options along with speciality foods such as ethnic cuisine, rice and noodles.
Tri-Star Packaging, Managing Director Kevin Curran said: “Spartan is our new hero for sustainable product ranges and is the latest and best example of our commitment to develop responsible, environment-friendly food-to-go packaging to date.
“Spartan delivers on our promise to sell the best and most appropriate packaging for the fast-growing food-to-go market, while making a positive and measurable contribution to our customer’s essential environmentally sustainable journey.”
The sizes of the two pots are 290ml and 410ml, available with a spork fitment lid and a plain lid.
