The five-year contract officially opened on 1st September when a team of seven Wilson Vale staff commenced a seven-day catering operation for 400 students and staff.
This latest gain is viewed as an important addition to the caterer’s existing portfolio of colleges and independent schools, which now accounts for approximately one third of the business.
Andrew Wilson, co-founder of Wilson Vale, said: ”We feel very honoured that Ruskin College has chosen us to be their catering partner as this is the first time the college has out-sourced its catering service.
“As an operationally-focussed business, our emphasis will be on building a close and responsive relationship with the student body to enhance their college experience. We will also be supporting the college in their quest to grow their conference services.”
Sally Courtney, financial director of Ruskin College, said: ”Ruskin College is a small college with a tradition of attracting students who have a keen sense of social justice and a desire to serve the community.
“We see the provision of great food and an engaging catering team as part of our pastoral care policy to nurture and support our students during their learning experience. We feel that the culture, people and approach of Wilson Vale is a perfect fit for us.”
