Abstract
Something for the Weekend chef, Simon Rimmer, has launched a new online platform which gives all budding TV chefs the opportunity to record a cookery demonstration and upload it onto the site.
The site is the brainchild of young entrepreneurs Omar Saeed and Paul Finnegan. They hit upon the idea when Omar, having left home in 2006, attempted to learn to cook using online recipes - only to find that there was nowhere for a beginner to watch and learn what they needed to do for each dish. Paul and Omar showed the site to Simon Rimmer who offered straight away to become a part of eatthechef.com. Simon, who is launching the site with several video cookery clips of his own, said: "We think that eatthechef.com will appeal not only to budding TV chefs, but also to foodies and "hesitant chefs" who would rather watch moving pictures showing the techniques of creating a dish, than simply reading about it in a recipe book. We all know of great unsung cookery heroes out there in our domestic kitchens, and here is the chance for them to share the limelight with us TV celebrity chefs." Paul Finnegan added: "As well as being a breath of fresh air for users eatthechef.com is also a great opportunity for advertisers to reach people who love to cook. We've integrated Adsense into the site, which means that when a user searches for a recipe or technique, they'll see targeted advertising that relates directly to what they're looking for."
