Abstract
Bespoke contract caterer, Talkington Bates, has secured two new contracts with a combined turnover of over £1m - including its first foray into festival catering.

Existing client, RSPCA based in Horsham, West Sussex, has signed Talkington Bates up for a further two years, plus two contract wins also picked up: a brand new two year contract for NGK Spark Plugs (UK) Ltd, based in Hemel Hempstead and a contract working with RSPCA Assured, the RSPCA's farm assurance and food labelling scheme at 10 UK festivals over the summer.

Paul Bates, managing director of Talkington Bates, said: “Talkington Bates has long been associated with delivering quality food and customer service and we’re delighted to be able to broaden our catering horizons and enter into the competitive world of festival catering.

“Innovation and diversification is always at the top of our minds and we pay particular attention to both market trends and consumer insight to ensure we are supplying cutting edge catering – this is something RSPCA Assured are already familiar with, sharing an office with the RSPCA, who we have been working with for some time. We enjoy an excellent working relationship with both companies, largely due to our similar brand values, the Talkington Bates and RSPCA Assured partnership really is a great fit!”

The company will take charge of the food offering – Yassa Hut – which RSPCA Assured will supply during the summer 2017 festival season, aiming to appear at festivals including, Glastonbury, Cornbury, Isle of Wight and Country File Live.

The second new contract is to supply to an entirely subsidised lunch for staff and contractors at NGK Spark Plugs (UK) Ltd, based in Hemel Hempstead.

In addition to the new business gains, existing client RSPCA headquarters has extended its contract with Talkington Bates for a further two years.
