Sodexo achieves silver Food for Life Catering Mark at UCL
Abstract
Sodexo Commercial Education has been the catering partner to University College London (UCL) since 2014 serving over 26,000 students across its campus and it has now achieved the silver Food for Life Catering Mark.

The Catering Mark is awarded to food providers by the Soil Association as an independent endorsement of the provenance and sustainability of the food they provide.

Caterers with the silver Catering Mark use at least 5% organic ingredients as well as serving a range of food from ethical and more environmentally friendly sources.

Simon Knight, contract director at Sodexo, said: “Consumers are increasingly interested in the provenance of their food.

“The Catering Mark recognises our commitment to serving fresh meals made with local and organic ingredients. We hope our customers will enjoy their meals all the more knowing that we are doing our best to source from a sustainable food system – helping to reduce food miles and our environmental footprint.”

Sodexo employs around 34,000 people and has an annual turnover of more than £1bn.
