Abstract
Nominations have opened for the National Ice Cream Competition 2019.

Held at the Ice Cream and Gelato Expo, with the next event at Harrogate’s Yorkshire Event Centre on 12 – 14 February 2019, the competition is open to anyone who makes their own ice cream.

Organised by the Ice Cream Alliance, there are 16 categories – ranging from the most ‘popular’ flavours across ice cream, sorbets and frozen yoghurts to innovation in new flavours and presentation, as well as a ‘Newcomers’ award.

Zelica Carr, The Ice Cream Alliance CEO, said: “The National Ice Cream Competition has been held for 74 years. It allows our industry to stimulate and recognise innovation, creativity and the highest standards of production.  Ice cream is big business in the UK – worth over £1 billion per year – but it is also big on talent.  That is what we celebrate with this competition.”

Winners receive an Ice Cream Alliance Winners Certificate and silver trophy.

The closing date for entries is 11 January 2019.
