Abstract
Contract caterer, Elior, has launched its winter/spring menu in client sites across the UK, with a strong focus of Filipino flavours.

As part of the company’s Global Flavours range, which celebrates “diverse” tastes and ingredients from around the world, its development team creates new menus with the aim of “introducing different, up-and-coming global cuisines into mainstream food culture.”

Shining the light on Filipino flavours, the latest menu includes dishes such as: glazed Filipino BBQ pork; aubergine omelette with spicy veggie mince; Filipino style beans with okra and green beans; java rice and banana ketchup.

Elior has also launched a ‘Mucho Mexicano Enchiladas’ menu, featuring pork and chorizo; chilli chicken;  and roasted squash, jackfruit and pineapple enchiladas.

Company strategic development manager, Mark Crowe, said: “(Elior) is bringing a taste of Filipino food to the UK, introducing customers to new ingredients and flavour combinations.

“Filipino cuisine is a hidden jewel of Asia that hasn’t yet been widely adopted across the UK and we want to change that.

“These sweet, hot and sour flavours are a highlight of this year’s menu and definitely pack a punch.

“(Elior is) excited to see how customers enjoy tastes such as banana ketchup and beef adobo.

“We're also bringing back fresh tastes of Mexico, such as oven-baked tostadas and vegan-friendly jackfruit enchiladas.”

The new menu is available in Elior sites now.
