Abstract
Centerplate has been selected as Liverpool Philharmonic Hall’s catering partner as part of the organisation’s plans to enhance the dining experience for concert goers.

The Grade II listed building decided to continue its relationship because of Centerplate’s response to providing suitable catering solutions to different audiences.

Simon Pile, regional operations manager, Heritage at Centerplate UK, said: “Liverpool Philharmonic Hall is one of the iconic landmarks in Liverpool and we want to pull out all of the stops to ensure that catering plays an integral role in the visitor experience.”

As part of the new deal, Centerplate is looking to introduce new ideas and expand usage of the 30-cover restaurant and bar facilities located in the Hall’s newly refurbished Grand Foyer.

The catering company has collaborated with Matt and Adam Locke, owners of Liverpool’s Spire restaurant, to create new lunch and evening menus. Centerplate plan to source ingredients and products from local suppliers and craftspeople.

Millicent Jones, Liverpool Philharmonic’s executive director of marketing, communications and fundraising, said: “Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, which opened in 1939, is in the midst of an extensive £13.8 million refurbishment programme that will make visiting the Hall an even more enjoyable experience for artists and audiences.

“As part of the programme, we want our hospitality offer to match the excellence of the concerts and events we present at the Hall, and for it to be an integral part of animating the Hall and attracting visitors throughout the day.

“Following a rigorous tender and selection process, we appointed Centerplate as our hospitality provider and are delighted with how they have responded to the demands of a very busy venue with a diverse audience that spans all ages, both in terms of their considered approach in designing and delivering delicious new menus and wine lists; and also in the team’s high standards of service and customer care.”

Centerplate also provides catering services to ACC Liverpool. Recently, the company announced the renewal of its contract with Celtic FC. Read more here.
