Abstract
A ‘humans of hospitality’ weekly podcast has been launched to focus on the people behind the UK’s independent hospitality sector.

It will feature in-depth interviews with producers of ingredients and the people who combine them to create dishes and drinks, together with the owners of the bars, cafes and restaurants who are the face of the industry.

Presented by hotel and restaurant entrepreneur Mark Cribb and available now on platforms such as iTunes, Spotify, Soundcloud, Stitcher and TuneIn,

Humans of Hospitality each week uncovers a ‘new and inspiring story’, celebrating independent hospitality's achievements but also delving behind the scenes to examine the challenges facing businesses.

Cribb said: "I'm launching Humans of Hospitality so that the many varied voices of the independent world of food, drink and hospitality are heard and the issues they face get a proper airing. I respect the entrepreneurs who've made it big and turned their enterprises into chains but I worry that the rise of formulaic wining, dining and overnighting will make the planet pale and uninteresting.

"There are lots of podcasts that focus on particular aspects of hospitality, such as different types of food and drink, but Humans of Hospitality will cover every angle and generate thought-provoking discussions along the way."

Humans of Hospitality, produced by former Woman's Hour and Desert Island Discs producer Miranda Birch, has four programmes available at launch.
