Abstract
2019 is set to be a good year for hospitality workers, with average salaries set to rise by 7.1% according to online job site CV-Library.

In its new report, the company compared job market data from 2018 and 2017, revealing that average salaries in the UK were ‘on the rise’ and hospitality was one of the ‘top sectors’ for a pay rise.

The data also found that vacancies were up sector-wide last year, again making hospitality “one of the best industries to find a new job in 2019” said CV-Library.

Founder and chief executive Lee Biggins commented: “Throughout 2018 there was a great deal of competition for businesses to attract and secure the most talented hospitality professionals, hence why the sector has seen such a jump in pay.

“As such, if you’re looking to secure a pay rise in the year ahead, there’s plenty of opportunity for you to do so in this influential industry.

“January is always a great time to look for a new job, as many employers look to strengthen their existing workforce.

“If you’re considering a new role or perhaps even thinking about a career change, the hospitality sector has lots to offer, especially when it comes to exciting job opportunities.”
