Abstract
Job opportunities in the hospitality sector are rife, new figures yesterday (13 December) revealed, with employers currently dealing with a 90% staff turnover rate.

While it’s not the best news for business owners and managers, it does mean that there are plenty of opportunities for people interested in entering the industry, or existing employees who are looking for a change.

The figures comes from hiring app, Job Today, who puts the “high churn” down to EU workers leaving their jobs and the UK, as Brexit continues to take its toll.

With chef positions in first place with the most vacancies currently available, waiter/waitress roles followed, and kitchen porter came in third place.

Hospitality roles with the most vacancies

  • Chefs
  • Waitress / waiter
  • Kitchen porter
  • Bartenders / mixologist
  • Food runners
  • Baristas
  • Cleaners
  • Chef de partie
  • Host / hostess
  • Events workers

With 43% of hospitality jobs filled by foreign workers, and the number of EU workers leaving the UK at its highest level for over a decade, the company said hospitality will be “one of the top industries to be affected by Brexit.”
