HCA Leadership and Development Forum programme announced

The programme for the Hospital Caterers Association 2016 Leadership and Development Forum has been announced.

The Forum will take place at the ACC Liverpool on 14-15 April 2016 and is set to opened by the Lord Mayor of Liverpool and Fionnuala Cook, president of the HCA.

Other confirmed speakers include Jacqui Pennington, head of hotel services at Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust, who will lead a session on ‘Collaboration, Collaboration, Collaboration!’.

Andy Jones, past chair of the HCA; Neel Radia, national chair of the National Association of Care Catering; Peter McGrath, national chair of Lead Association for Catering in Education; and Phil Shelley, national chair of the HCA are also due to discuss collaboration - specifically collaborating with partners.

Meanwhile, Liz Hawkshaw, catering manager at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust will be joined by patient Steven Storey to discuss how to ‘turn a complain into a compliment’.

Carrie Ruxton, freelance dietitian; Deepa Kariyawasam, senior renal dietitian at King’s College Hospital, London; and Marg Davies, matron for Dementia at Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust are expected to join together to discuss feeding the elderly.

Other speakers include Dr Simon Bowers, Fulwood Green Medical Centre; Jess Twemlow, client manager for the NHS and the Public Sector, Ricardo-AEA; Caroline Lecko, patient safety lead, NHS England; Philip Hunt, shadow deputy leader of the House; and Lorrie Plein, president Canadian society of nutrition management.

The Forum will culminate with an exhibition and the HCA Annual General Meeting.
