Abstract
Foodservice operators are being urged to register now for Chip Week 2015 if they want to be in with a chance of winning the Choice Chip Awards 2015.

Open to independent pubs and restaurants, the awards recognise and reward the best chips being served in the country, as voted for by the chip-eating public.

Kate Cox, Potato Council marketing manager, said: “The Choice Chip Awards are designed to recognise the best chips being served in the country, but it’s up to your customers to vote for you.

“Social media is a great tool to remind loyal customers to support your chips - why not schedule a couple of reminders on Facebook or Twitter over the coming weeks to encourage voting?”

Chip Week, now in its 24th year, is run by the Potato Council. Funded by potato growers and potato trade buyers, Potato Council supports the British potato industry and is a division of the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board.

To be in with a chance of winning, operators need to register to take part in Chip Week. They will then receive promotional material which will inform customers of their participation in the Choice Chip Awards and encourage them to vote. Customers can either vote online, or they can use the voting cards supplied with the Chip Week promotional kit,

To register, simply call 01664 869409 or email chipweek@potato.ahdb.org.uk. Customers can vote in the Choice Chip Awards at www.chips.lovepotatoes.co.uk/vote from Saturday 10th January 2015 until the closing date Saturday 7th February 2015. Any postal voting cards must be sent in by participating pubs and restaurants by Tuesday 10th February.
