Elior Avenance Healthcare secures significant hospital catering contract

24th Nov 2009 - 00:00
Abstract
Elior’s Avenance Healthcare division has beaten off stiff competition to secure a catering contract worth £5m over 10 years with Singleton Hospital, Swansea.
Singleton is a busy, modern day District General Hospital with 550 beds, situated in Swansea Bay. The contract is for a commercial outlet serving visitors, staff and patients looking for an alternative offering from the hospital's own catering service. Catherine Roe, managing director of contracts, Elior UK said: "We were awarded the contract due to the quality of our offer and for clearly matching the requirements of staff, patients, visitors and the hospital. This is a very significant achievement for our Healthcare Division as it heralds our acceptance as a serious contender in this competitive market. It is a sector that we will continue to focus specific growth on and we look forward to adding even more retail outlets to our healthcare portfolio." The catering outlet will serve breakfasts, soups, main meals and will also feature a Deli, Grab and Go section, Jacket Potato Bar and a Costa Coffee bar. The service will be available seven days a week. Elior Avenance has a number of existing contracts in South Wales including Admiral Insurance and the DVLA.
