Abstract
Compass Group UK & Ireland, food and support services, is calling on SMEs to enter the first The Idea Works! competition of 2015.

First launched in 2012, the initiative seeks innovative concepts in food and facilities management and helps them get off the ground. Candidates will be invited to pitch to a panel of experts in a Dragon’s Den format and if successful, Compass will work with them to implement their idea into the Compass business.

Oliver Cock, managing director, commercial, Compass Group UK & Ireland said: “We’ve discovered some exceptional ideas through this programme and it’s a great way to support new, up and coming talent. To potentially have your product used or stocked in a sector of Compass is an exciting opportunity and would give many SMEs the launch pad needed to get their business on the right track. As an innovative business, we’re proud to be able to support smaller organisations that have winning ideas.”

Previous participants include Mr Sherick’s Shakes, Jimmy’s Iced Coffee, Leak Lizard and Cocktail Magic. This year, judges for the event include Mark Lewis, Editor, The Caterer; Steve Cenci, Managing Director, Healthcare; Paul Galvin, Financial Director, Compass Group UK and Ireland and Nick Vadis, UK Executive Chef, Compass Group UK and Ireland.

The next judging event will take place at The Hospitality Show on January 21st.
