Abstract
Contract catering company Catering Academy has opened 10 Extra Care schemes with housing association Saxon Weald to strengthen its presence in the healthcare sector.

The sites are located across the south coast of England and receive bespoke menus tailored to those living in Extra Care housing, providing the appropriate nutrition to over 430 residents daily.

Jason Jones, general manager of healthcare at Catering Academy, said: “We are extremely pleased to be working with Saxon Weald as part of this contract win. Adopting person-centred principles is the backbone of our approach to catering in senior living settings, and Saxon Weald chose Catering Academy for its Extra Care schemes for that reason.

“We look forward to improving the catering experience at each of the schemes, and constantly refining the offering and service for the residents there.”

Catering Academy will be implementing a waiting-on service at the sites in the upcoming months as it also looks to increase its operation within the healthcare sector. Kevin Cannon, Louise Wymer and Stacey Rose formed catering Academy in 2004.
