Costa Coffee was named ‘Best Coffee Chain’ for the fourth year in a row and UK based Timberyard was announced as ‘Best Independent Coffee Shop – Europe’. Harris + Hoole was announced as the 'Best Coffee Chain in the UK & IE'.
Five individuals were also awarded for their ‘Outstanding Contribution to the Coffee Industry’. These included, Mario Pascucci, managing director of Caffè Pascucci; Nick Tolley, Co-Founder of Harris + Hoole; Tim Sturk, head of Training, BaxterStorey; John Nylon, CEO, Espresso House and Gennaro Pelliccia, Production Technical Manager, Costa Coffee. Andy Marshall, managing director of Costa Coffee, picked up the Life Time Achievement award.
The awards formed part of the European Coffee Symposium, which is Europe's flagship event for senior executives from across the branded coffee shop and food-to-go sector. The event provides a platform to develop knowledge, build relationships and drive business performance.
